Hi everyone,
Is there a way of merging two monthly time series (Monthly Forecast and Monthly All Periods) into a single time series?
A bit of clumsy (i.e. non-existent) planning has led to me using Monthly Forecast and Monthly All Periods interchangeably so now I'm in a situation where I can't move module component between these time series sheets. I have also made changes to the standard time series and I would ideally like to just just the "All Periods" time series going forward.
Would aligning the time series (by making the rows identical on both sheets) allow me to move the components between the two types of time series and then removing the Monthly forecast or do I have to rebuild the components currently on "Monthly Forecast" sheets on the "All Periods" sheets to achieve this?
Cheers
T
Hi Tarjei,
Modano doesn't currently facilitate the merging of time series period titles sets, but we'll add it to our list of things to include as it would be handy.
In the interim, there's really nothing wrong with having 2 identical period titles sets in your time series module, even though I appreciate that anyone with OCD wouldn't be too happy about this. It certainly won't cause any issues.
A workaround to get rid of this would be:
I appreciate that you will need to re-enter your assumptions, but when the modules are re-inserted they will latch onto the single period titles set, effectively re-directing them to a the same period titles set as the other modules in your workbook.
If you've only got a small number of modules in your workbook that reference the second duplicate period titles set this workaround may be viable.
Thanks Mike, I think I'll stick with the time series I've got - appreciate the thorough reply as always.
